Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare work
   • Safety issues related to operating and monitoring fuel firing plant are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures and Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and legislative requirements
   • Work requirements are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures, from relevant personnel and documentation
   • Documentation to determine fuel firing plant status is assessed and evaluated, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • Inspection, preoperational tests and field preparations for fuel firing plant service are carried out, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
   • Fuel firing plant operational prerequisites are established, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
   • Sequence for recommissioning of fuel firing plant is determined, in accordance with workplace procedures and site requirements
2. Work requirements are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures, from relevant personnel and documentation
3. Documentation to determine fuel firing plant status is assessed and evaluated, in accordance with workplace procedures
4. Inspection, preoperational tests and field preparations for fuel firing plant service are carried out, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations

9. Corrective actions are taken to rectify fuel firing plant abnormalities, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
10. Test fuel firingplant operation
    • Operational tests are performed, in accordance with workplace procedures
11. Fuel firing plant is observed, in accordance with workplace procedures, for correct operational response
12. Corrective action is taken, in accordance with workplace procedures, when response does not meet with documentation, fuel firing plant integrity or personnel safety requirements
13. Fuel firing plant is returned to required operational status upon completion of test, in accordance with workplace procedures
14. Analyse fuel firingplant faults
    • Causes of abnormal fuel firing plant operating conditions are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures, and by analysing technical and operational information
15. Corrective action is taken, in accordance with workplace procedures
16. Fuel firing plant integrity and personnel safety is maintained, in accordance with workplace procedures, and in consultation with appropriate personnel and technical and operational documentation
17. Monitor and inspect fuel firingplant
    • Fuel firing plant to be monitored and inspected is physically identified, in accordance with workplace procedures
18. Fuel firing plant is monitored and inspected for normal operation or to detect deviations, in accordance with workplace procedures
19. Appropriate personnel are notified when defects are detected, in accordance with workplace procedures
20. Complete documentation
    • Fuel firing plant problems, movements, and status are reported, in accordance with workplace procedures
21. Documentation is updated, in accordance with workplace procedures
